Lonato Castle...
Set just 5kms inland from Lake Garda is the town of Lonato which has a boasts a long history due to it’s strategic position. The castle that rests above the town has seen many eras go by from it’s beautiful vantage point and prehistoric remains have been found at the summit of the castle hill.
A wedding in the castle offers the chance to celebrate the ceremony in a fabulous outdoor setting with stunning views while offering a degree of privacy. There is also the very special possibility to have the entire wedding reception within the walls of the castle.
Weddings in Lonato castle take place in 3 different venues:
1. Sala lettura
(Approximately 20m from the museum entrance), this room is suitable for small weddings up to a maximum of 20 people all seated and is located a short walk from the castle fortifications, there is a slight uphill walk of 150m to reach the gates of the castle. It offers a very special chapel like atmosphere for those who want something very intimate but atmospheric.
2. Casa del castellano/capitano
This room is larger and holds up to 120 people seated.
This room is located within the castle grounds and offers many stunning views from the castle battlements over the town of Lonato and more stunningly views of Lake Garda and the surrounding countryside. There has been a castle on this hilltop since 1000 A.D. and it has been carefully restored over the years.
3. La Rocchetta della Rocca
Without a doubt possibly the best setting for your wedding.
The ceremony takes place on the open lawn in angle of the higher fortifications opposite the Casa del castellano/capitano.
Seating can be arranged for up to 350 people on the lawn.
From here you can enjoy many enchanting views of the castle, the lake and its surroundings.
(In case of bad weather the ceremony will take place in the Casa del castellano/capitano).
- The castle is located on a hilltop overlooking Lonato, the Morenic hills and panoramic views of Lake Garda.
- The castle is a medieval fortress that dominates the town.
- The ceremony is performed in Italian with a translator.
- There is a short uphill walk to the castle; however plenty of on-site car parking is available.
- This is a beautiful location for wedding pictures with breathtaking views all around.
Weddings can be arranged any day of the week.
Banqueting facilities are available to cater for your wedding party so that the entire reception and party can take place within the castle itself.
Music can be arranged.
Firework show to celebrate and add sparkle for a grand finale can also be arranged.
Lonato is close to Desenzano (5kms) and Padenghe (5kms) where a wise selection of accommodation can be found.
Transport arrangements can be arranged for your party to reach the Castle.
